Yeah the kipuna and the pohutu are pretty different. 

the pohutu is meant to perform as a surfboard and as a kiteboard and works realy well from high quality in the pocket stuff in Figi to the more sloppy stuff here in Cali. I realy like the pohutu because it has the right feel for my style and i can surf it too. I grew up surfing and love the idea of having one board that you can get comfortable. The pohutu has more volume and float due to the deck and also will go from rail to rail better. This board has more of a surfing feel and is my favorite all around. 

the Kipuna works realy well also but is much more stable and feels very diffrent. You are down in the deck which makes learning strappless so much eaiser and there is a rounded nose for not spearing yourself in the face when doing more freestyle manuvers. You can do some preaty cool stuff on this board more for slopply waves that we normaly have kiting. the way the board mechanicly works is crazy and allows to skate the board more preaty fun but not as wave focused, for more relaxed and mellow learners to advanced gives a realy nice smooth ride. 

I ride the 6'2 pohutu and a protoype 5'10 quad. I rode the 5'8 for the last 4 months in australia and its a little small for my taste, aka for surfing.. like to travel with one board. So when i got the first 6'2 i was way more stoked on that. I am working with ugd and we should come out with a 5'10-6'0 range board and that will be my favorite size. but right now the 6'2 is my choice for strappless. I have noticed strapped people would like the smaller 5'8 but not for me. 

so more pohutu for focused waveriding, and kipuna for allaround play board.

Leider nur wenig Action, da kein Tele mit an Board war. Und auch vom ganz fetten Samstag Nachmittag gibt es keine Bilder, da es einfach zu bewölkt oder auch regnerisch war...

Patrick Rebstock und sein Kumpel zeigen hier, dass sowohl Freestyle als auch Wavekiting an einem Spot möglich sind. Patrick rockt dabei strappless mit dem Underground Pohutu.

Welchen Style ich davon bevorzuge, kann man sich ja denken. ;)
